editI am Wikimedian in Residence at Coventry University, based in the Disruptive Media Learning Lab, which Jonathan heads. I'm going to be making some changes to the article, which is out-of-date, and will stick, to cited, factual updates. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 09:01, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- That's commendable, but the man (who I don't know at all) is not a president, baseball player, cosmonaut, "Playmate", or similar, and thus is not somebody whose achievements, attributes, performance, timespans etc are likely to neatly match standard and oft-searched fields. So I don't see how a bio-infobox helps the article. Indeed, I wish you hadn't added it. (Is this very "uncollegial" of me?) Your other disruptions of the article are welcome. -- Hoary (talk) 09:22, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- I note that {{Infobox photographer}} - whose purpose seems highly relevant - was merged into {{Infobox person}} (the template used here); while {{infobox academic}} also exists. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:29, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- It seems that it was you who merged it or perhaps cleared up after the merge. For me, history merges are one of Wikipedia's many mysteries: I can't see any history for it. I wonder whether its creator had much of an interest in photography: I've seen quite a lot of articles on photographers (I've even perpetrated a few myself) but I don't remember encountering any photographer infobox. -- Hoary (talk) 12:55, 28 April 2020 (UTC)

- The article says "Newfotoscapes was selected as one of Lens Culture's "Best Photobooks of 2014"." I think this should be removed because Lens Culture is a site influenced by the fact photographers pay to be featured. -Lopifalko (talk) 12:22, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Another thing, when sourcing, please try to find independent reliable sources with significant coverage of the subject. An (admittedly) quick scan of the current sources shows only The Independent with the merest passing mention of Shaw
(so that doesn't count)and the WSJ, which I cannot access.Independent reliable sources with significant coverage of the subject go a long way to demonstrating notability.Thanks. -Lopifalko (talk) 12:36, 28 April 2020 (UTC)- I think the sources for the claims I have added are appropriate for the claims I have added. Please feel free to point out any examples where you disagree. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:22, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
