Jonathan Yeo (b. 1970) is a British artist, known for his distinctive portraits that combine photographic realism with a painterly touch. He was the official artist of the 2001 British General Election, creating the likenesses of all three of the main party leaders in a triptych titled "Proportional Representation" (currently on display in Portcullis House). Yeo did not go to art college but taught himself to paint in his early twenties. His work has been displayed in the National Portrait Gallery, the British House of Commons, the Scottish National Gallery, and commercial galleries Blain's Fine Art (now the Haunch of Venison), Eleven and Historical Portraits.
Yeo's portrait subjects include:
Tony Blair, Erin O'Connor, Rupert Murdoch, Grayson Perry, Minnie Driver, Ozwald Boateng, Dennis Hopper, William Hague, David Gilmour and Ivan Massow.
Jonny Yeo is the son of Conservative MP, Tim Yeo. Jonny's partner is the presenter and journalist Shebah Ronay and together they have a baby daughter, Tabitha.
