Contested deletion
editThis article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because the artist has charted at number 15 in the UK INdependent Singles chart as can be seen here: http://www.theofficialcharts.com/archive-chart/_/12/2011-08-13/. — Davidjohnston83 (talk) 18:06, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
Requested move 31 May 2023
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. Consensus that this proposal is in line with WP:NAMECHANGES, as – when restricting a search to post-name-change sources – the name Jonny Yerrell predominates. (closed by non-admin page mover) ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 18:22, 8 June 2023 (UTC)

- The current title returns nearly 3 times as many results in a Google search as the desired destination. This request fails WP:COMMONNAME. I will create a redirect from the desired destination to the current title. This is a WP:PCM. If you wish to continue with your request, click the discuss link in your request to begin a formal WP:RM discussion. Once you've done that, or if you do not wish to continue, please remove your request. Thanks! Since you are an IP and can't be pinged, this request will be removed in 1 day. - UtherSRG (talk) 19:21, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
Additional comments:
Oppose– If you look at the date of publication of the results you mention, they're at least 10 years old, with social platforms inactive for the same amount of time. The sources referencing 'Jonny Yerrell' as the correct alias are all recently published, with some as recent as today's date. This spread over the past 5 to 6 years. 82.38.62.59 (talk) 23:06, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure that's an expression of support for the proposal, not opposition, so I have struck through the word "oppose". It came from the proposer. Maybe it is opposing the idea of deleting the proposal; it is not opposing the proposed move itself. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:41, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
- Support: I confirm what the IP said. Newer sources talk about Yerrell and either don't refer to "Jay Mya" at all (see the ones cited by the IP) or say that was a name he was using more than 5 years ago (see The Telegraph 2 February 2023 here). The sources that refer to Mya are generally low quality or old sources. — BarrelProof (talk) 04:02, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you! So the 'Jay Mya' page should be renamed as 'Jonny Yerrell' based on newer sources. Is there anything else you need to be provided? 82.38.62.59 (talk) 10:29, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- Is there anything more required here to make this change happen? It is not yet changed on the page. 82.38.62.59 (talk) 13:58, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- RM discussions are usually kept open for at least a week, so this will probably stay open for 2–3 more days. — BarrelProof (talk) 00:03, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
