Talk:Jordan Hall (Boston)

"most perfect" claim is probably correct BUT ...

edit

I suspect the claim here is correct -- that Jordan Hall and Symphony Hall are two of America's most perfect acoustical halls -- but can we find a citation for this?

Claims to "prestige" and "greatness"

edit

Please remove such claims, because, even when sourced, they're higly unencyclopedic. I don't doubt that the J.Hall is a good hall and NEC is prestigious but I recomend editors to visit the articles of the Royal Academy of Music and Juilliard, as good examples of objective articles about "prestigious" conservatoires. Roman Numerals on Jordan Hall

edit

Should there be something in this article about how the roman numerals on the front of the building are incorrect? They say, "MDCCCCI," obviously intended to be 1901, but this violates one of the rules of roman numerals ("However, in a few specific cases, to avoid four characters being repeated in succession (such as IIII or XXXX), subtractive notation is often used," from Wikipedia, Roman numerals). The proper notation would be, "MCMI," but I am worried that this might be considered original research. Please clarify and add this edit as you see fit.

The Roman numerals, "MDCCCCI," are clearly visible in the top right of this image.
