Reversion of material

edit

An anonymous contributor has now twice attempted to delete the referenced material concerning Prof Bernardo's expulsion from the ISBA. The IP address of the contributor suggests a vested interest in doing so. Perhaps an admin could act to prevent this happening again ? Thanks ! Robma (talk) 18:39, 27 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

It's only sourced to primary sources and so per WP:BLPPRIMARY doesn't belong in the article. Please don't add it back without a reliable secondary source. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 17:27, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
WP:BLPPRIMARY warns against misuses of primary sources. It is a simple fact that J. M. Bernardo was expelled; nothing to argue about here. (talk) 10:27, 3 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Discussion can be found at WP:BLP/N#Jose Miguel Bernardo. Zaereth (talk) 18:55, 8 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
From WP:BLPPRIMARY

Exercise extreme caution in using primary sources. Do not use trial transcripts and other court records, or other public documents, to support assertions about a living person. Do not use public records that include personal details, such as date of birth, home value, traffic citations, vehicle registrations, and home or business addresses. Where primary-source material has been discussed by a reliable secondary source, it may be acceptable to rely on it to augment the secondary source, subject to the restrictions of this policy, no original research, and the other sourcing policies.

And the BLP/N discussion now found at [1] confirms this. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 07:10, 4 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Deletion of reference to ISBA ruling

edit

Given that Prof Bernardo had a clear conflict of interest in deleting the reference to the ruling, I would suggest a disinterested party should reinstate it, and then either leave it or immediately delete it according to their view of the discussion referenced by Zaereth.
