References and Copy Editing
editThis article is in need of references for just about everything. The whole article is unsourced and the murder section seems to fail WP:BLP. I did a little bit of copyediting but would like feedback on that as well. Paiev (talk) 00:46, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
I made some extensive edits to correct some of the issues cited above. Sadly, the edits were reverted without any indication as to why. I've tried implementing them again. The problem has to do with bias. You cannot claim in an unbiased way that a person murdered someone else if said person was acquitted of the crime. Prior to my edit, the article said just that. Also the details of the murder clearly contradicted all of the eyewitness accounts as have been reported in various publications. In fact, the closest to an eyewitness that was available, Tony Atlas, contradicts the account previously on wikipedia: http://www.bedofnailz.com/bruiserbrody. Obviously, we need for this article to be less biased and my edits aim to do just that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.236.70.36 (talk) 22:51, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- You're the one taking credit for whitewashing this article? Disgraceful.24.187.128.89 (talk) 13:31, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Should be changed
edit"the man who killed, allegedly in self-defense, Frank Goodish, also known as Bruiser Brody." It is not an allegation that he killed bruiser in self defense. He went to court and all allegations have been knocked away like dust in the wind. Legally as fact he stabbed Mr Brody to death in self defense.24.115.19.178 (talk) 12:08, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- This ruling is widely known as a gross miscarriage of justice. 152.117.104.134 (talk) 18:28, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
Requested move 29 September 2014
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no consensus for move. If not for the murder acquittal, WP:COMMONNAME would apply; however, LM2000 is correct that RS in the article discussing Brody's death use González' real name. In this case, the redirect seems sufficient. Miniapolis 22:55, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
It was proposed in this section that José González (wrestler) be renamed and moved to Invader I.

José González (wrestler) → Invader I – Most Common Name – HHH Pedrigree (talk) 18:40, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Steel1943 (talk) 20:52, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Comment: This move request was contested by Dicklyon. No rationale for doing so was provided on the WP:RMTR page. Steel1943 (talk) 20:54, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Comment – I think a change from a person's name to a stage name based on a "most common" claim is not free from controversy; it should be discussed. I have no opinion otherwise. Dicklyon (talk) 21:04, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Well, for pro wrestlers, we use the common name. Mr. González gained national exposure as Invador I and he won +30 titles under his ringname, not under his real name. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 22:45, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- The article calls him "Invader #1", and you call him "Invader I". Surely they can't both be right? Anyway, I'm sure someone will support if you're right. Dicklyon (talk) 23:45, 29 September 2014 (UTC)
- Sources call him Invader I and Invader #1. However, # is a problem --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 00:54, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose His involvement in the Brody murder is more notable than his actual wrestling career and sources discussing the murder tend to use his legal name over his wrestling name.LM2000 (talk) 21:29, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- However, he wrestled his entire career as Invader I. He won +30 titles as invader in 40 years. I think he is notable because his career and also, he stabbed Brody. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 19:55, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
