Copy changes
edit- long unique for its more conservative orientation in comparison to other syndicates—towards left-wing political positions Definitely should be "unions" instead of "syndicates" for sindicatos
- Changed. Just for future reference: Would you say the word "syndicate" has primarily negative connotations? It can be used for "labor syndicate" but I understand there's also the connection to "crime syndicate." I'm traying to decide if I should fase out using it. - @Krisgabwoosh As someone who started learning Spanish when she was 12, I'd have to agree. I also don't think most English-speakers would expect to hear "syndicate" refer to a labor union. In English, Merriam-Webster; in Spanish, RAE. The English definitions, of which there are more, don't have any trade union connotations. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 21:58, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
- The alliance between the MAS and the drivers' unions solidified from 2005 on, and translated into the nomination of at least one union representative per department Remove the comma after "on" (CinS)
- Fixed. Krisgabwoosh (talk) 09:10, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
- Come at this with fresh eyes and look for possible other changes. I wasn't sure whether "hydric" made sense to use in English.
- The original "hídricos" is actually best translated to just "water" but then it would be "Water Resources and Water Committee," so I went with the more direct translation.
Spot checks
edit- Multiple references to Romero Ballivián which check out. Some are in other entries, e.g. [8]:
El pacto de los transportistas con el MAS se tradujo en numerosos curules parlamentarios para los choferes.
Thanks for the opportunity to go back and look this one over. This was one of my older articles, so it needed some work. In addition to the points addressed above, some adjustments to the citation source code and style have been made. Additionally, I populated the article with more links and added a section heading or two—its interesting how a few headers make an article so much more aesthetically pleasing, at least to me. - @Krisgabwoosh I know this feeling very well. I have 19 pending GANs—and another 124 pages I intend to nominate. That's two planned GAs for every GA I currently have. And that number is growing faster than people are taking my nominations, probably because my titles in broadcasting have a distinctive lack of lowercase to them. - @Sammi Brie Right on! Yeah, I've seen some of your TV station articles on DYK and am always impressed. They're a topic one wouldn't ordinarily think would make such interesting reads. Krisgabwoosh (talk) 22:44, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
