Last name
editI thought his last name was Theodore, not Théodore. Could someone enlighten me about this? No rush – civilization won't collapse if I never find out. Thanks. John FitzGerald 16:42, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- A quick google search of Canadian sources in French shows Théodore heavily preferred but not universal.
- Jose's last name is is pronounced thee-uh-dohr, not tay-uh-dohr or thay-uh-dohr, as commonly thought and used. Therefore it's simply Theodore. I've changed the title and corrected it throughout the article and also added the pronunciation in a sub-topic. Conquerer 05:20, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Portuguese Canadian? Can someone please confirm this? I've never heard anything linking him to Portuguese descent.

- He is an Macedonian-Canadian. source:http://www.celebsoup.com/Jose_Theodore.html Maktruth (talk) 04:44, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- That source isn't exactly reliable, and looks like it is a mirror image of a former version of this article. Kaiser matias (talk) 04:51, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- lemme look for another source Maktruth (talk) 06:08, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Found one, from the United Macedonians Organization of Canada. Link here. Kaiser matias (talk) 06:22, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Now, is there any source of Theodore being Portugese? Kaiser matias (talk) 06:29, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Actually that's not a source, but a nationalistic (and irredentist for the matter) website. It has only propaganda reasons behind it. I've removed the claim till a real source is provided (non-RoM and non-nationalistic). --Laveol T 13:38, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- kk, I'll edit the page, I heard about the Portuguese but I couldn't find a source, I'll look though, if I find anything I'll post it Maktruth (talk) 13:06, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
He's Macedonian. I watched this show called Macedonian Heritage Hour a few years ago on OMNI television in which they were showcasing Macedonian heritage, culture, and celebrities. One of the people they showed was Jose. This website mentions Jose being of Macedonian background, and his appearance on the show. http://www.omnitv.ca/ontario/tv/docs/episodes/latebloomer/bios.shtml

editArticle should mention theo's nickname. 98.192.200.202 (talk) 00:44, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Image request
editThere should definitely be a picture of Theodore in a Montreal Canadiens uniform and as a Colorado Avalanche. NorthernThunder (talk) 19:02, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Pronunciation
editHis last name is pronounced tay-uh-dohr in French and thee-uh-dohr in English. (and presumably something resembling thay-uh-dohr in Macedonian.) Since he's francophone, the article should note the French pronunciation of his name. Ffarquhar (talk) 22:47, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
