... that the loss of Josef Pürer and his three companions so traumatized ace Miroslav Navratil that he flew only one more sortie? Source: "...they were greeted by the news that Forster, Kubelik, Pürer, and Tomicki were all missing. The loss was devastating to...Navratil. His records list only one operational flight against the enemy in September and October of 1918. ...the pilot's seat of the aircraft broke... The aircraft was wrecked and Navratil was again severely injured. He was still recuperating when the war ended." O'Connor, p. 76.
ALT1: ... that ... ? Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)"
Comment: There's a great photo of Navatril's plane for ALT0, but I cannot figure out how to list it in this nomination. Also, I am open to suggestions for an ALT1 if ALT0 is rejected.
Overall: This is a nice article that is well written and new enough. The hooks are good and I'm accepting the offline sources in good faith. My main concern is that it isn't quite a x5 expansion - I make it x4.5 - but am not sure if that is a showstopper. If the article can be slightly expanded to x5 that will solve the issue and there is still time to do that. I agree with the nom that the picture of Navratil's aircraft is good and would look great on the front page. Is someone able to add it? Bermicourt (talk) 19:19, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Bermicourt's generous review is appreciated. However, I have gone back through the sources, and failed to scare up any more eligible factoids. Rather than pump some fact-free prose into the article, I prefer to defer to the Eligibility standards on length and withdraw the nomination.Georgejdorner (talk) 01:28, 22 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
