Joseph-Alfred Archambeault
  • ... that Joseph-Alfred Archambeault (pictured) threatened to excommunicate a writer who criticised the Catholic Church's opposition to the theory of evolution? Source: "Laurendeau...published a book in 1911 claiming that on evolution, Catholic Quebec was backward...Archambeault forbade Catholics to read the book and told Laurendeau to recant. Despite the threat of excommunication..." [1]

5x expanded by Z1720 (talk). Self-nominated at 02:52, 10 July 2022 (UTC).Reply

  •   Newly expanded more than fivefold, long enough, interesting, neutral tone, no copyvio issues per Earwig, item cited in line, QPQ completed. This is good to go. I prefer the first hook over the simple fact stated in ALT1. Topshelver (talk) 17:23, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Inconsistency

edit

There is inconsistency between "he ... campaigned against temperance" in the lead, and " he supported temperance... " in the section Role of bishop. Both cannot be right.--- Marshelec (talk) 06:30, 11 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Looks like a typo. I reviewed the source and corrected the lead. The original contributor should of course feel free to edit further. Topshelver (talk) 17:23, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
