- We have discussed this suggestion amongst ourselves and have concluded that the burden of contributing as much as possible actually falls on RabidRetardedolphinz. So, RabidRetardedolphinz, when time allows please sit down and get to work. Your suggestion is great -- hop to it! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.248.181.226 (talk) 08:35, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
Phelps record bettering...
editI have removed this section from the article:
- Schooling broke a record of Michael Phelps' in the 100 yards fly (short course) set when Phelps was the same age as Schooling. Should Schooling be an American, he would have been ranked No.1 on the US' top 100 list for 15-and 16-year-olds for his 47.06 second effort in Texas for the 100 yards fly (short course). In a phone interview from his home in Jacksonville conducted by The Straits Times, he said: "It's been a target of mine and I'm really happy to do that. It is a huge boost. I didn't like racing in yards when I first arrived here in the US but I've seen how important it is here in the States. Hopefully,I can get more of his records".
- In the 100 metres fly (long course) ,Schooling clocked just 0.2 seconds behind a 16-year-old Michael Phelps' mark of 52.98. Before this July's 2012 Summer Olympics, Schooling aims to take down one more of Phelps' age-group marks - the 100 metre fly(long course).
The relevance between Schooling and Phelps is not well explained by this, and there are a few problems:
- Schooling swimming for Singapore means he cannot set/break a USA age group record, so it is not relevant to mention his bettering a record that he cannot set.
- The USA 15-16 year-old yard 100 fly record is held by Mike Cavic, not Michael Phelps. (Phelps holds the 200 fly mark for that age group.) Hooperswim (talk) 05:21, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
His birth date
editThere seems to be some serious discrepancies in the article with regards to his birth date. In the opening of the article it is stated that he is born on the 16th June 1995 while in the info box it is stated that he is born on the 23rd June 1998. Can someone please clarify the correct birth date and make the appropriate edits? Orangewarning (talk) 03:47, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
Language
editI find that some parts of the article were not written in a very informative manner. Such as "That struck Colin", "no stones unturned" to name a few. It sounds as if it is a story, but that does not fit into an encyclopedia in my opinion. Please resolve this matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EdwardLinZK (talk • contribs) 13:55, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
