Was Tyrrell a paleontologist as well as a geologist?

edit

Can we actually consider Joseph Tyrrell to be considered as a paleontologist?

He accidentally came across the Albertosaurus while on an expedition. However, despite that, some Wikipedia pages classifies him as a paleontologist, which can get confusing, since he never dealt with fossils after that discovery and would prefer studying about the geography of the area he was in at the time.

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could confirm/edit this.

Thank you in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.165.219.87 (talk) 19:27, 4 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
