editCopied from Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Opera:
This page seems to be lacking detail of her career in Europe: we get detail about her start and then her later work with Opera North, but not much to explain how it came to pass that it was she partnering Domingo - and doing such a job of it - in the 1989/1990 Salzburg Festival Ballo. almost-instinct 20:00, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- Probably this discussion ought to be transferred to Talk:Josephine Barstow, but I'll answer here for now. I don't think that she had much of a career in continental Europe. The Salzburg appearances, IIRC, were because Karajan suddenly decided that she was to be his next diva. However, the priest and the doctor in their long coats were running over the fields, he died in 1989 and she went back to Britain. --GuillaumeTell 20:49, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Does anyone know where a good summary of JB's career can be found online? almost-instinct 22:09, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Have you checked the External links (especially the first one) at the bottom of the article? --GuillaumeTell 00:33, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Blimey I'm a total idiot. I promise I'm not usually this stupid. I've only been messing around and getting nowhere on Google. I think with WP I've developed a kind of blindness towards the Links sections. Time to concentrate a bit more almost-instinct 07:43, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
I hope I'm doing this right, I have basically no idea how to edit wikipedia, but I noticed that poor Ande seemed to be getting ignored and I had to at least TRY to help. He's not shown under the spouses section at the top of the page, and I was wondering if his Obituary on the Independant would be enough of a source for his marriage/death?
