Tag for deletion

edit

I've tagged this page for deletion as the bulk of the text is a copyright violation from http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/view.jsp?artid=551&letter=J. The 2 previous versions would qualify for deletion under {{db-empty}} so there's little point in reverting to another version and then tagging for deletion. Hang ON!

edit

Don't be so hasty. It's public domain text. I forgot to put the template at the bottom. I am still working on wikifying, hence the {{inuse}} template. Please untag! Thanks.

Article title

edit

Based on the Hebrew name of this person, my thinking is that it would be better for this article to sit at Yehoshua ben Hananiah than at Joshua ben Hananiah ... I am concentrating on the 'Joshua vs. Yehoshua' aspect and someone else might have a comment about the remainder of the name. Thoughts? --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:56, 18 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Drew Kaplan source

edit

I've edited the article to reflect what Drew Kaplan wrote on his blog - that Rabbi Yehoshua is the *seventh* most frequently mentioned sage, and not the tenth. בית שמאי, בית הלל and חכמים are not names of sages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aniboker (talkcontribs) 23:27, 29 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Opposes Judæo-Christians

edit

I don't see any premises in the text that support that heading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Craigmac41 (talkcontribs) 04:36, 17 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect citations - help!

edit

Hi all, I have no experience editing Wikipedia, so I prefer to leave changes to someone who knows what they're doing. However, I think citation 3 is incorrect; it refers to Jerusalem Talmud Yevamot 3a, which contains no reference to the subject at hand. I'm currently looking for the correct source for this well-known tradition. Can anyone help out? Thanks!105.225.62.236 (talk) 15:10, 6 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Note also citation 23. Yer. Moed Kattan 83a does not exist. The tractate goes up to 19b.165.73.33.168 (talk) 06:09, 9 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
