Querying notability tag
editHi the article creator has added on my talk page why I’ve tagged this article for notability. My review of the sources in the article is:
- 1. Verifies content but does not demonstrate notability
- 2. Not independent
- 3. Self authored, not a third party review
- 4. Written independently but basically an interview
- 5. Record release pr that quotes from the next source
- 6. Written independently but basically an interview
- 7. Good source, independently written and not primarily a rehash of what the subject says about himself.
- 8. Self published source
- 9. More or less verbatim the same as source 6, showing it is basically a press release
- 10. Another version of the same press release
- 11. Supports verifiability, not notability
- 12. Confirms that he was nominated for an award but did not win it.
My conclusion is that while the band may be notable it’s less clear that the article subject is notable on his own. The article is mainly based on interviews and press releases. If he had not received coverage for his cancer, I doubt there would be much basis for an article at all. If he is genuinely and independently notable there must be better sources than this.
