Jersey Journal (FYI/411)
editThe Jersey Journal Building, at 30 Journal Square, has been home to the Jersey Journal since 1925. The 5-story building was designed by John T. Rowland in 1921 when the area was renovated for new bridges over the the Pennsylvania Railroad cut and the Hudson and Manhattan, now PATH, station. Jersey City's longtime daily newspaper began as the Evening Journal on May 2, 1867, at 13 Exchange Place. It relocated several times before settling in its current location--to the Darcy Building, now the Fuller Building at Hudson and Montgomery Streets, to 158 Greene Street (between York and Montgomery Streets) in 1869, and to a new building at 37 Montgomery Streets in 1874. The newspaper moved to present-day Journal Square, whose name is borrowed from the daily, in 1911 before settling into 30 Journal Square.

editSeems to be no reason to introduce an image that has no context in this article that is already full of photos that are are relevant.Why do it? How does a 1906 photo of a street level line at least 10 blocks from the Square, created in the 20s, help the reader to understand the subject of the article???? By the way it is about the Erie which used other tunnels, not the PRR, which went through what would become Journal Square about ten years after the H&M opened. - Djflem, Journal Square is a neighborhoods in Jersey City. The picture is taken within the neighborhood. The image is of a street in 1906, not of a railroad. The address is included in the caption. Placing a modern-day image (which by the way I did not remove) and not a historical image does not give the reader any sense of what the area looked like 110 years ago. Please restore it to my version and please feel free to look around of other historical images (anything pre 1921 is fair game) and add them.Monopoly31121993 (talk) 11:15, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
- The picture is more appropriate for Hilltop, Jersey City (and therefore have place it there) Five Corners, Jersey City, neighbourhoods within the Journal Square ward/dstrict or Bergen Arches since the original picture caption purports to be related to Erie Railroads crossing of Bergen Hill, though that would not be possible since the Erie never ran trains at grade across the top of the Palisades. Thanks for the invitation to find other historical images, but as you may have noticed I can really find my own way around Wikipedia. Djflem (talk) 11:57, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
- FYI: Probably a shot of Pavonia 27 streetcar line which ran from Pavonia Terminal to Transfer Station.

- Great, thanks for putting it there. Btw, the photos in that series that are titled Erie are obviously not all pictures of the Erie railroad, that's just a title that a bot gave them when it uploaded them.Monopoly31121993 (talk) 14:44, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
Sources modified on Journal Square
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just attempted to maintain the sources on Journal Square. I managed to add archive links to 1 source, out of the total 1 I modified, whiling tagging 0 as dead.
Please take a moment to review my changes to verify that the change is accurate and correct. If it isn't, please modify it accordingly and if necessary tag that source with {{cbignore}}
to keep Cyberbot from modifying it any further. Alternatively, you can also add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}

Garret Kushner and Chinese Investors eb5
editNotable news and facts continue to flow and need a thorough inclusion in the article.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/20/politics/draft-kushner-visas/index.html
"...References to Kushner are part of online promotions by two businesses that are working with Kushner Companies to find Chinese investors willing to invest in the 1 Journal Square development in exchange for a US visa. The promotions are posted in Chinese and refer to Kushner Companies as "real estate heavyweights," going on to mention "the celebrity of the family is 30-something 'Mr. Perfect' Jared Kushner, who once served as CEO of Kushner Companies."..."
I will proceed and would appreciate contributors. --Wikipietime (talk) 13:25, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
