This man was NOT appointed governor at all. He was asked to be an acting governor until someone capable to be governor could arrive. Thank you for your comments. I agree with you that it is better read as " "appointed as acting governor of Puerto Rico". However, there is no reason to over react and your comments such as "putting ethnic groups in a bad light" seem racist and are not-welcomed in Wikipedia. There is a difference between ethnicity and nationality. De Leon's ethnicity was "White", his nationality " a Spanish subject/Puerto Rican. There are too many people out there who confuse "Puerto Rican" as an ethnicity when in reality it is a nationality. Tony the Marine (talk) 20:49, 18 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
