Move proposal (2005)

Since most of the references to Julian in the "What links here" are for Julian the Apostate, I propose the Julian redirect to Julian the Apostate, instead of to this disambiguation page.

Meaning

edit

It is a well known fact that the name Julian derives from the latin name giulio. It refers to a disgustingly sexy and attractive guy. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 131.104.248.102 (talk) 01:17, 27 January 2007 (UTC).Reply

No... Julian comes from the Latin name Iulianus. Giulio comes from Iulianus. Thegreyanomaly 05:47, 13 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actually, Giulio is a late (Italian) manifestation of Julius, while Julianus is a derivation of Julius, and Giuliano is the late manifestation of Julianus. (Read "I" for "J" if you need.) -- spincontrol 02:36, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

That aside, where does that thing about "the Latin element related to the meaning 'sky.'" come from? It sounds rather speculative, and I've never heard it before. Anyone care to give a source for that etymological tidbit? Tarchon 20:33, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reorganised

edit

The names were in no logical order, and one of them came in twice.

There are also four that link to nothing - should they go? --GwydionM 13:41, 13 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Move this? (2008)

There is a move request at Talk:Julian_the_Apostate#Requested_move_2 to move Julian the Apostate to Julian, which would involve moving this page to Julian (disambiguation). Please discuss it there. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 22:03, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

As no-one has commented on this move proposal in the last 9 months, I've moved it as desired, waiting to see if there is a consensus to move it back. -- spincontrol 02:58, 24 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Persistent vandalism

edit

What is it that attracts dunderheads to vandalize the Julian page so frequently??? -- spincontrol 02:36, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jolyon

edit

So, 'Jolyon', a pretty common name according to searches both here and on Google. However, doesn't have its own article, nor is it listed on this article under alternate spellings. A quick search on a couple of baby name websites shows that quite often 'Jolyon' is redirected to 'Julian'. Should it be added here (and a redirect created too), or does it get its own article. 'Jolyon' experts of the world, have your say! Grunners (talk) 16:45, 29 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

I've found enough to suggest it merits its own article, so voila! Jolyon. Grunners (talk) 10:29, 17 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Julian (disambiguation) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 07:02, 18 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
