Living in a tree for half your life - never indoors, not even when visiting - strikes me as PTSD not eccentricity. And - comparing birthdates stated in our articles - Popjoy was more than 30 years younger than Beau Nash. The article also describes him as having "a string of mistresses" - as well as having a personality tht shaped a city (dominating housemate, much??). Altogether, and making due allowance for other times / the past being a foreign country etc, this looks to me much like Domestic Abuse hidden in plain sight. Anyone know of any feminist analysis of Popjoy's story / Beau Nash's? Any reliable source we could use, if so?
