The marriage of Iglesias and Preysler was annulled in 1979.
editUser:Robert Abitbol A divorce and an annulment of marriage are two different things. Mr Igledias got divorced in 1979. His marriage was never annulled. An annulment of marriage happens because of technicality. Ex: a spouse is already married at the time of the marriage. Please correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.68.218.239 (talk) 05:36, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Father kidnapped
editHi everyone. I'm French so, sorry if my grammar does not seem right. I was looking at an old french TV news broadcast from 1982, january 1st, and it mentionned that Julio's father was still missing, kidnapped by at least two guys.
You say it's in 1985, but it's wrong. I don't want to touch anything because I'm not bilingual, but you should change that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.118.118.132 (talk) 14:34, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
- I researched this. A lot of fan sites on the 'net say 1985, but I think they got the date from Wikipedia. Two newspapers said December 1981 so I changed the article to 1981. GroveGuy (talk) 04:17, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
Jewish?
editThis page use to say he was Jewish? now it was taken away??? Now it says his mom has roots from puerto rico and cuba? but the reference is faulty.--Anen87 (talk) 21:00, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
I have changed this. He has no puerto rican or jewish origin at all. The jewish claim comes from a random crowd pleaser statement during a concert in Israel. It wouldnt be so much a lie but just trying to be friendly (most spaniards assume they must have some jewish heritage somewhere down the line). His maternal grandfather was quite famous at the time and certainly not jewish. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.39.43.45 (talk) 15:10, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and removed the absurd categories that were added due to that comment. I have no opinion about what the comment means or what it's supposed to mean... but it's certainly a case of WP:UNDUE to start adding him to several Sephardic Jewish cats because of it. - Good work, the article makes a lot more sense now.MilkStraw532 (talk) 04:54, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Preysler?
editIn the section about his music career, there is a sentence that begins "Following the annulment of his marriage to Preysler in 1979..." Who is this Preysler? There is no mention of her anywhere else in the article. Mûĸĸâĸûĸâĸû (blah?) 00:03, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
- Done, I have added more information about his marriages and about Preysler.Dr. D.E. Mophon 12:09, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

Portraits
editBoth photograph portraits in the article share exactly the same image of the head. One of them -or both- is obviously a faked composite. There are many pics of Iglesias around, try to find a replace for one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.122.3.129 (talk) 09:49, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
English speaking world
editIn 1984, he released 1100 Bel Air Place, the hit album which established him as a star in the English-speaking entertainment industry.
How could the 1984 album establish Iglesias as a star in the "English speaking entertainment industry" when he was already an established star in the United Kingdom and Ireland, due to his number one hit with "Begin The Beguine" and a top five hit with "Quiéreme Mucho (Yours)"? This should surely read In 1984, he released 1100 Bel Air Place, the hit album which established him as a star in the English-speaking entertainment industry in the United States. ‘Most successful European singer?’
editSurely Elton John, or any number of British singers, would claim that title. Shouldn’t it read ‘most successful continental european singer’? Aron Robinson (talk) 07:34, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
