Gyula Elischer (physician, 1875-1929)

edit

There is a possibility that his father was the Hungarian physician Gyula Elischer (physician, 1875-1929), whose article on the Hungarian Wikipedia is here. Unfortunately, I have not yet found any reliable sources stating so. Calistemon (talk) 13:23, 31 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

The biography linked in the first reference says his father was Gyula Elischer. [1] On a personal note Julius told me about his father dying of cancer as a result of exposure to X-Rays. He also mentioned choosing Berlin over Copenhagen Stockholm to study architecture and I was under the impression he spent some time in Berlin before the war ended. @Aluminium Bronze: My post from above predated me finding out that there is indeed a father-son relationship, a fact that also has been replicated on the Hungarian Wikipedia now. On the Berlin note, that would go hand in hand with another source I saw that mentioned him visiting the city during the war and witnessing deportations. There is an autobiograpy as well, covering early life to post war Germany and his first marriage. The Berlin deportations weren't mentioned. After being wounded he was captured by the Soviets but escaped while being deported to Siberia. He also worked with Alois Hitler after the war Aluminium Bronze (talk) 05:41, 5 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
