The latitude and longitude in the article, 34.033°N, 117.391°W, which match the source, identify a flat field with no tree. Here is a topo map and aerial view. I understand the value of hiding the location to deter vandals, but if this is known to be erroneous, better wording would be "located within a few miles of..." rather than "located at..."
