A little disagreement on the reason Obito got his Mangekyo Sharingan
editI read in the text that it said that if an Uchiha sees one of their loved ones die, an Uchiha could develop Mangekyō sharingan. Obito’s example was used as a proof. I do not recall anywhere in the storyline a place where it is says that a Mangekyō sharingan can be obtained other than actively killing your closest friends yourself. I thought (and still think) that Obito’s exception took place because Obito and Kakashi shared eyes from the same eye set, and for this reason the consequences of whatever action either of them does would apply for both. Since Kakashi killed Rin, and got the Mangekyō in his eye, Obito’s eye also followed the same manner since it is its twin.

Sage Mode vs. Curse Mark
editOkay, so from my understanding is that while Jugo's bloodline has the ability to [passively] absorb natural energy and those with the curse mark can do the same thing, neither of them are actually masters of senjutsu. Because Orochimaru failed to obtain Sage Mode, he developed a jutsu to try to gain Senjutsu Chakra a faster way; however, because those with the curse mark experience a lot of pain and their chakra is being drained from them, while their abilities may increase, they're not as powerful as real Sages. Those with Sage Mode have to stay perfectly still in order to — become one with nature — and thus their abilities become dramatically increased. Jugo and curse mark users on the other hand, while they can attain natural energy, they can't control it perfectly like Sages because of its constant absorption, mutating their bodies and making them go berzerk. While some, like Sasuke, have been known to be able to use it willingly, the curse mark still drains away their chakra lacking the balance between natural energy and the physical/spiritual energy needed to create senjutsu chakra. Therefore, depriving them of any means of sensing natural energy or the senjutsu chakra it creates, keeping them from mastering senjutsu regardless of their enhanced abilities; making them not as strong as those who've obtained Sage Mode.[1][2]
The same thing should be said for sensor types and those with the Three Great Dōjutsu when it comes to sensing sage chakra.[3] Well, I'm glad I finally got that off my chest. 68.107.208.226 (talk) 08:27, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Copyedit December 2016
editI did copyedit on the article and removed some of the maintenance templates. The article was in pretty good shape, and my edits focused on clarity, consistency and tone (the issue of "in-universe style"). Here are my notes:
- Serial commas were used about half the time for clarity. I put them throughout for consistency, feeling they might also help distinguish some of the proper nouns.
- In § Concept and development, I feel it could benefit from a definition or description of what a "hand seal" is for readers who are not familiar with the genre.
- In the first sentence of § Senjutsu, the passage
that is taught from summons who have obtained the title of sage
is unclear to me. Does "summons" mean "a person who is summoned" or could that be a typo of "someone"? - In § Advanced Chakra Nature Transformation, under the bullet point for Magnet Style, the middle of the paragraph appears to be describing Sand Style. It's unclear how the two are related, or did this get mixed-up at some point?
- At the end of § Rasenshuriken there are a pair of awkward sentences which I commented-out:
Rirngan is type of wheel eye that allows the user to see the enemies chakra and jutsu. This type of wheel eye that allows the user to see the enemies chakra and jutsu is even stronger then the great sage jutsu. This Riringan is discovered by Boruto son of Naruto.
In addition to the odd spellings ("Rirngan" and "Riringan", which I assume are typos of "Rinnegan") the passage doesn't seem to belong in that section. - I got rid of some overlinking, common terms (like "gold" and "snake"), fixed some links (the World of Naruto article is now Ninja World and section titles have changed, and Rasengan redirects back to Jutsu (Naruto)), and also clarified some links, such as piping links to kekkei genkai around "genetic technique" instead of merely "genetic" which I felt was a little misleading.
- I feel there may be overuse of capitals for emphasis, but it's difficult for me to say what's treated as a proper noun in the works. At the moment, I'm thinking it probably helps a bit with clarity to distinguish some of the terms.
I'll do another read-through of the article tomorrow. Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or comments, or information on the above. Thanks! – Reidgreg (talk) 21:51, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

GA status
editIs the GA status correct? I mean, this article has a Template since February and seriously lack of Critical, reception, Origin and development informations that are strictly necessary and, last but not least, non-universe sources. Someone just have to start a Delistening nomination. --151.53.164.56 (talk) 11:05, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
