SNARS-250 first air to air missile?
editHmmmm - I can only find sources in Russian - was it the first ? Megapixie 13:49, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
- M.R.Bisnovat worked on SNARS-250 in 1948..1953 at OKB-293. BTW, "SNARS" itself is abbreviation for "self-guided aviation rocket munition". There was a governmental Decision № 1175-440 of 14 april 1948 (it inculdes the works on coast defense missile complex "Shtorm"), R&D theme №3 from appendix №4. Decision № 4812-2090 of 04 december 1950 has turned the development from R&D to design stage. Development/industry names: izdelie I-64, izdelie 9 (flying models), izdelie 14/12 (liquid fuel rockets for wing development), object 20 (autonomous); the missile looks much like K-8. Carriers were La-200 and I-320 interceptors. Decision № 533-271 of 19 february 1953 has terminated the form of Bisnovat. good source in russian, match the monography --jno 12:49, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
