The result of the move request was: moved. The main objections at RM/TR were primarily about the confusing nature of this move set, not uncommon in US radio. • Comment I note that KSPF was recently changed from a redirect to Black Hills Airport to a redirect to KLUV. Regardless of the outcome of this move request, something will need to be done about the airport code. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:23, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
• Support Temporarily, KLUV should continue to redirect to KSPF because the station now holding the call letters is not on air and not in service. For non-topic editors seeing this RM, let me provide a few facts, as it is a bit hard to parse, as well as the configuration of hatnotes.   • Audacy, Inc. sold to the Educational Media Foundation (EMF) the call sign KLUV and the rights to use the K-Love name in the Dallas area. This station had used both for nearly 40 years. It rebranded this station and changed its call sign to KSPF. WP:NCBC prescribes that articles be named at the current station call sign, so the instant move is appropriate.
  • EMF has placed the call sign KLUV on a construction permit—an unbuilt station—at Huron, South Dakota, which was designated KLHU. [1] This station will not have standalone notability as it will rebroadcast the K-Love network. These titles redirect to List of K-Love stations. As long as KLUV is placed on a K-Love transmitter with no standalone notability, it should be a redirect to KSPF as the most likely search target.
  • It is not unlikely that the KLUV call sign is later placed somewhere else in the network, probably a major city station with standalone notability, by EMF. EMF is known to move call signs around in this manner across its hundreds of stations. In that case, the KLUV article title should be used for the page with a hatnote to point here.
• Once moved, KSPF should have these hatnotes: KLUV redirects here. For the radio network, see K-Love. For information on KLUV in Huron, South Dakota, see List of K-Love stations. and KSPF is also the airport code for Black Hills Airport.
• If the KLUV call sign is moved to another station with standalone notability, it should have this hatnote: For 98.7 FM in Dallas, Texas (1984–2023), see KSPF.

• One more thing (yes, I'm hoping to clear the deck and be able to close this and move the pages). The other objection came from Sennecaster on the KSPF end, where the redirect target change was seen as a usurp. When the redirect was created by Mlaffs in 2009, he wrote, in the absence of a licensed broadcast facility at this call sign, redirecting ICAO code to associated airport. We now have a licensed broadcast facility here. There are no incoming links depending on that redirect. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 01:16, 29 June 2023 (UTC)

  @Sammi Brie: I'm fine with that, my concern about the usurping is also satisfied. Now that I'm thinking about it, an supplementary (and probably short) on what makes requests controversial might be beneficial; I don't think that why this was a PCM in the eyes of UtherSRG and myself was very clear to folks who don't handle move requests often, and WP:PCM only states "someone could reasonably disagree with the move" without further guidance.   @Sennecaster In radio, we have some very complicated page moves because of the precision and timeliness involved in call sign titling. That half of NCBC is, and must be, very different from many titling guidelines on the project. It is not that uncommon that things like this come to RM/TR and just become too hard to explain. I have pagemover for this exact reason and to handle round-robin moves which are also somewhat common here.
