Where might this tower be?
Why could it be built taller than 2000 ft
editWhy was it possible to build it taller than 2000ft?
The tower is located in Walnut Grove, CA, roughly halfway between Sacramento, the city of license for KXTV and Stockton, the city of license for KOVR. It was built in 1985 in a joint venture between KXTV & KOVR. It is adjacent to the 1549 foot "candelabra" tower that was built in 1962 and served for more than two decades as the primary tower for KXTV, KOVR, KCRA, and KVIE.
Date of construction
editI'm quite sure this tower was built considerably earlier then 2000. I have a photo of the tower dated 1991. It was built in the 80s . The 2015 date is wrong — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:8000:7601:A741:556C:F82F:E050:4DF (talk) 07:54, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
Radiation Pattern
editThis tower was featured in a fall 2006 CW31/UPN31 local news report that showed a graphic of the Walnut Grove tower radiation pattern. It is a CW31 screencap taken Nov 22, 2006, 08:48am. --Mouse209 68.185.68.167 20:39, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
