new Xiangfu District

edit

Looking on the map and table on zhwiki Jinming District (金明区) and Kaifeng County (开封县) aren't listed anymore - instead there is a new Xiangfu District (祥符区). Please update enwiki accordingly. --katpatuka (talk) 18:40, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Etymology

edit

Note that the government web portal China.org.cn is on record stating that the name predated the Qin, having been founded as Kaifeng ("Opening Up New Lands") by the Zhuang Duke of Zheng in the late 8th century BC when he was settling some new territory. It had already been renamed Bianliang before the Qin. — LlywelynII 14:51, 4 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
