Kalaallit are only west greenlanders
editThe name Kalaallit originally refers especially to the people of Western Greenland - the people of North and East Greenland traditionally have different ethnic names (inuit(avanersuarmiut) and tunumiit respectively). Only in Modern Greenland has Kalaallit become extended to include the entire population of Greenland. ·Maunus· ·ƛ· 21:27, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
The statement "Kalaallit are considered to be descended from Dorset and Thule people, who settled Greenland in ancient times." is not consistent with information on other wiki-sites concerning the migration and heritage of greenlandic inuit. Historical litterature agrees on the fact that Dorset people was a non-inuit people and there is no genetic link between people of the now ectinct Dorset culture and greenlandic inuit. Modern days greenlandic inuit descends directly from the Thule people who migrated to Greenland around a.d. 1300.Lars-per-nielsen (talk) 02:38, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

editThe photograph is of Alaska Natives, I believe, probably from Nome, Alaska. This needs to be investigated. Alaskakid (talk) 01:58, 16 December 2013 (UTC)alaskakid
