editThank you for protecting this page from the many anonymous IPs that were vandalizing it. I personally reccomend unblocking it in just a day or two. To those reading this, if that much time has passed, please consider requesting it being unblocked if it hasn't. Erich Blume 19:38, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. I think a day should be ok. If I don't remember to unprotect, please leave a message on my talk page. - Aksi_great (talk) 19:42, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
- I have unprotected the page now. I don't think the vandals would return. I have the page watchlisted to protect in case they return. - Aksi_great (talk) 08:04, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- Looks like it was a pack of bored schoolkids from Eugene. A quick look at the WHOIS on all the IPs I warned didn't turn up an abuse reporting address for Eugene School District 4J, but if they come back, that is an option... Katr67 14:30, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Cleanup
editThe information that was copied from the duplicate article needs to be merged with the rest of the article. This could also use some headings and perhaps unlinking some of the bands that may just end up becoming redirects to this article. (Unless they are in some way notable enough to merit a separate article). And of course this badly needs to have citations. Katr67 21:29, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Follow-up needed
editChemeketa and Chemawa bands in Salem area. See Chemawa. Katr67 (talk) 20:55, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
The word "Shaman" is not a Native word. It is a European word and thus, no one in the Kalapuya Tribe was ever called a "shaman" as listed in the wiki.

– "Kalapuya" was the original title here - actually "Calapooya" was, created on July 1, 2004 (I can't determine when "Calapooya" was changed to Kalapuya, but note that Kalapooian was merged in e.g. here. Over seven years later from its origins, the ethno article was moved from "Kalapuya" to "Kalapuya people" by Kwami on Oct 2 2011, over redirect and without discussion or any reason given. As now established by consensus across a large series of RMs of this kind lately, the people are the PRIMARYTOPIC in such cases per PRECISION and CONCISENESS. To underscore this here are the view stats:
- "Kalapuya people" was viewed 988 times in 201403
- "Kalapuya language" was viewed 62 times in 201403
- "Kalapuya (fungus)" was viewed 19 times in 201403 Skookum1 (talk) 15:55, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
- "Kalapuya Treaty", which was not on the dab page but a title I spotted on early edits to the ethno article, was viewed 23 times in 201403; I will add it to the dab page, which will prevent that from being a TWODABS page once the ethno article is moved, per PRECISION, CONCISENESS and PRIMARYTOPIC, to the standalone title.Skookum1 (talk) 16:04, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
- Comment I just discovered that Kalapuya Treaty is a redirect to [[1]]. View stats for that are 169 views in 201403.Skookum1 (talk) 16:10, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
