While it is alright to note that the article has been mentioned in music, lyrics should not be written out as they are. Thus, they should be promptly removed. Daniel Musto (talk) 16:54, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I included them as they give a sense of how the place is viewed. Rewriting the sense of the lyrics descriptively in the third person would, I consider, be inferior. What is your objection? Can you refer me to a WP policy which guides us on this? I have included pertinent verbatim quotations before in articles over many years, and have never encountered a reaction quite like yours.
Incidentally, I found it quite a challenge to source any verifiable information about this place. Can you find anything to enhance the article? Cheers. -- Euchiasmus (talk) 17:13, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Since there is no discussion, I've removed the tag while I was adding an infobox. -- Euchiasmus (talk) 20:13, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Adding lyrics to articles is okay provided they're discussed within an analytical framework of notability, importance and depth (WP:LYRICS), but one problem with this article's lyrics section is that it cites a web page that violates the copyrights of another party, in this case by displaying copyright lyrics. Per WP:ELNEVER, we can't link to such sites. Also, WP:SPS states that open wikis are usually not acceptable as references. Teitur Lassen's official website would be a better source for the song's lyrics ([1]), but is there a less problematic website than LyricWiki that provides an English translation? --Muchness (talk) 03:25, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for this, Muchness. To resolve the problem, I have left a message on Arne List's wikipedia talk page as I'm guessing that he might be the user who put the English translation on lyricwiki. I suggested to him that if the lyricwiki English translation is his work, he could put an English translation onto this WP article too. I could then change the reference to cite http://www.teitur.com/C4.htm instead. He is an experienced WP editor who has done a lot of work on Faroes pages, so I am confident we can find a suitable solution to this. Best regards (and happy new year!) -- Euchiasmus (talk) 07:24, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
The translation is by me, indeed. It can be used elsewhere, but it is no official translation, however. I can ask Kristian Blak of Tutl, wether we should make an official translation, but AFAIK is "Káta Hornið" an insider album for Faroese people and friends. Take this stanzas as example. The "annual blockade of Kaldbaksbotnur" refers to the tunnel, which is blocked once a year due to some reason, I don't know, perhaps an accident, that happens following to the statistics. Perhaps is it a running gag in the islands, I don't know. But I know the road and the tunnel, which are a kind of a highway for Faroese terms ... :-)
This means in the context of the song, that there are not so many exciting things happening in the Faroe Islands, and that such a blockade of the main tunnel is breaking news, and fits to the stormy weather, the Faroese lifestyle. The song "útisetin" is by the way meaning "emigrant" and refers to Faroemen, who left the islands, in order to live abroad (30 % of the Faroeislanders do so, including Teitur Lassen). It's about returning to the home islands and the circumstances there. Like the weather, some things cannot be changed there, e.g. the yearly blockade of the tunnel. My English is not good enough to explain in the article, but I won't quote the song in this form without any explanation. -- Arne List (talk) 00:06, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
