At one time I tried to add some of this information to the article about the lead singer (see Talk:Kalle Mattson) but met strong objections from another editor who felt that these musicians who worked with him for several years should not be mentioned. I couldn't quite see the logic; it would be easier to read about them all in one place, in my opinion. However, I do believe there is enough reliable coverage of the group and its recordings to support this separate article if others don't agree.—Anne Delong (talk) 12:27, 3 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
To be frank, they're not really two distinct topics with individual standalone notabilities — they pass WP:NMUSIC as one entity, not as two separate ones, because neither the person nor the band actually have any notability claims distinct from the other topic's notability claims. So it actually is more appropriate to have one article rather than two: either the band is the notable topic and the person it's named for is just a member, or the person is the notable topic and the band are just supporting musicians. But for the same reason that we didn't need to maintain two separate articles about Patrick Watson (musician) and Patrick Watson (band) (which was also once attempted, but then got merged back down), we don't really need two separate articles here either. And in addition, I'm also finding that a lot of the references in the band's article are actually outdated dead links that have to be either relocated or removed — and the musician's article needs a major reorganization anyway, because it just goes straight from "he exists" to "here's the technical verification that he passes an NMUSIC criterion" while completely skipping over any substantive detail to make the article a good one. And since the user who raised that objection was a WP:SPA with no non-Kalle Mattson-related edit history at all who hasn't been around here in three years, their objections don't overrule all other considerations. I'll take a stab at merging the articles in a way that tries to balance the band with the person in a coherent way. Bearcat (talk) 14:25, 18 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
