One more category?
editPerhaps we need another category here to recognize its status as a religious object/structure? Would Category:Religious buildings or Category:Altars be OK? I didn't want to add either immediately, I would initially like to get the opinions of people watching this page. Siyavash 13:55, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Removed How to Make Kamidana Inexpensively
editI've removed the link "how to make a kamidana inexpensively" as it no longer works. If someone wants to update, please do. Myndaen (talk) 23:59, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
not a Kamiza
editPlease see Talk:Kamiza for discussion of confusion between these terms. Heroeswithmetaphors (talk) 02:30, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
"Kamidana can also be found in some traditional Japanese martial art dōjō." Is this sentence necessary? They can be found in a variety of places, like sake breweries, as well. Maybe this line should be removed and the first paragraph reworked to mention this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kiruning (talk • contribs) 01:06, 14 August 2013 (UTC)
Kamidoko
editkamidoko redirects to this page, but there's no information on this page discussing it. I'm currently reading Yamakage's "The Essence of Shinto", and regarding kamidana it says, "It can be at floor level that has three or four steps. This is call 'the Floor for Kami' (kamidoko)". This Wikipedia article makes it seem that it should never be placed floor level, but it sounds like there are exceptions to this rule.
