Kardinia Park

edit

Two issues: It says that Kardinia Park is an AFL ground. Kardinia Park is the whole park, incorporating Skilled Stadium and two other ovals, along with other buildings, equipment etc. Also, Sleepy Hollow is a nickname of Geelong (city), not Kardinia Park.--Hoever06 13:54, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just wondering whether this article should be moved to Kardinia Park instead of redirected, since it is the official name of the stadium, rather than just the current sponsorship deal, which has included names like Shell, Baytec, Skilled etc Rogerthat Talk 04:32, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree with a move to Kardinia Park. -- Longhair 04:39, 4 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
I don't care for sponsor names either, but we (Australians) are good little corporate shills. If one tried to rename Telstra Dome, Telstra Stadium, Aussie Stadium etc. there would be much gnashing of teeth.. the idea that a ground has a proper name and a transitory sponsor name would be lost on them, that would be my guess --Paul 11:36, 5 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Naming of grounds

edit

I'm still not comfortable with this article. Perhaps it should be expanded to mention the cricket ovals and surrounding grounds, not just the Footy Stadium. Skilled Stadium is only one section of the Park. I undertand the move to this page, but I still think the article is lacking. Kardinia Park does include quite a lot more than just the stadium. However, if a change is made, I'm not sure it'd fit in with the Australian Football League grounds sections. What does everyone else think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Timothykhoo (talkcontribs)
