editToday I was walking in downtown Chicago and I saw his statue in front of the Adler Museum, but it learned he was a martyr, is this the same Karel Havlicek?
Certainly yes
editIt must be this Karel Havlíček, the statue was probably erected by Czech immigrants (one of them - Anton Cermak - was Chicago mayor). Havlíček was not a Christian martyr (he wrote a lot of anti-clerical epigrams) but he was considered to be a national martyr of the police system of Austria of that time (see Alexander Bach)
My father stated that Karel Havlicek was my great grandfather. Is there more genealogy about his descendants? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.136.230.180 (talk) 01:09, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Havlicek' only daughter Zdena died childless —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.86.132.35 (talk) 18:19, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
