Anyone interested in writing aboutMagaret Hutchinson Compton should know that she christened at least two ships: SS M. I. T. Victory and SS Francis Amasa Walker, a Victory and Liberty ship, resp.--J Clear 02:03, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Rumford Prize and Medal
editIt is mentioned that Compton earns "The Rumford Gold Medal and Rumford Silver Medal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1931"
Obviously there is some mistake in here, since the American Academy gives the Rumford Prize, the Rumford Medal being given by the British Royal Society for works exclusively carried out in Europe. And there is no metal attached to either.
He indeed is on the list of the Rumford Prize winners. Trassiorf (talk) 11:35, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Other awards
editIt is remarkable that the authors of this article did not think of checking on the links they wrote :
- Marcellus Hartley Medal
- US Army Medal of Merit
- Norwegian Order of St. Olaf
- Western Society of Engineers
- Lamme Medal
- William Proctor Prize for Scientific Achievement of the Scientific Research Society of America
- Priestley Memorial Award
Worst of all is the US Army Medal of Merit, which does not seem to exist, even in a similar form, within the whole (in English) WP. I am trying to translate this article into (in French), and imagine what I can invent to plug all these holes ! ...
Can you think of how foreigners appreciate all these honors, that the (in English) authors themselves treat so lightly ? Trassiorf (talk) 12:40, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Section on "Publications" is deceptive at best.
editThe section "Publications" makes it looks like Compton wrote a couple of magazine articles. Either the list should contain his most significant publications or it should not be included. Johnjbarton (talk) 00:17, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- I moved the two refs to inline citations and deleted the section. Johnjbarton (talk) 00:30, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
