The GBIF reference says he commited suicide in 1945, but a contemporary reference states that he died in 1944 after the bomb raids to the city. Since the last bomb raids in Munich were in November 1944 and beginning of 1945, and there were definitedly no more bombing after april 1945, I decided December 1944 was the correct date of his death.--Jrfep (talk) 18:28, 9 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
@Jrfep:The GBIF reference currently does not mention suicide at all, nor does the paragraph in The Entomologist's Record. The GBIF piece thus is apparently an unreliable source, and the statement remains unverified. The Mauermayer (1962) reference may support it. --Animalparty-- (talk) 01:21, 24 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
