Qırmızıqaya as a title
editThe village is under full control of the Azerbaijani forces. Other than that, a Google search gives 1,510 results for Karmrakuch and 3,010 results for Qırmızıqaya. User:AntonSamuel, do you have any objections? Thanks, --KHE'O (talk) 04:33, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
@Kheo17: For most of the Nagorno-Karabakh villages, move discussions are usually a good idea, since the history of the region is so complex and varies so much from village to village. De facto status is relevant, and so is historical context. When it comes to the statistics you've presented, if you've thought along the lines of common names for article names, there needs to be an English-language "anchor" in your search engine tests such as "Karabakh" to provide English-language results. When doing so, "Karmrakuch" is more prominent 1,400 than both "Gyrmyzygaya" 3 and "Qırmızıqaya" 524. AntonSamuel (talk) 05:16, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
@AntonSamuel: I totally agree with you, but one thing I found out that the Azerbaijani name is more commonly transliterated as Qirmiziqaya into English and it gives 14,000 results.--KHE'O (talk) 15:24, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
@Kheo17: You forgot to add the additional English-language "Karabakh" to the search, then you get 8 results. AntonSamuel (talk) 15:27, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
@AntonSamuel: How do you determine the anchor word? For example, why don't you take "Azerbaijan" as an anchor word? This will give a totally different result. Isn't this subjective? ThanksKHE'O (talk) 15:36, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
@Kheo17: I do think "Karabakh" is more neutral than "Artsakh", "Azerbaijan" or even relatively neutral "Nagorno-Karabakh" when taking the disputed nature of the region into account. But if you think a name change for the article is proper, I would advise you to open a move discussion so it's done properly from the start. AntonSamuel (talk) 15:42, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
@AntonSamuel: I think, there is no need for a such action so far. I am pretty convinced by you. Thank you KHE'O (talk) 15:50, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
