Seems notable - borderline WP:BLP1E

edit

I think we've enough here to meet WP:BIO, though we're bordering on a WP:BLP1E situation. She's known for her restaurants and promoting raw food. She promotes herself as much more, but we need to be wary of following her press.

We need to watch the WP:FRINGE, bordering on WP:MEDRS, claims she makes about the foods she sells.

The article needs better sources. A well-researched article or biography about her from a reliable source would be ideal. I'm unclear on who, if anyone, approved this article for creation, nor can I find the comments on why it was rejected for creation. Most of the sources are questionable.

We might want to get some help from WP:Food. There has to be some WP:GA and WP:FA articles on similar people. Seems like her restaurants could be almost as notable as she. --Ronz (talk) 01:23, 27 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

BLP sources

edit

I recently tagged this article with the BLP template given its lack of reliable sources and the other section on this Talk page citing these concerns since 2014. An IP user reverted the tag placement, and this action seems a bit odd. That user has made edits previously to this article but in a promotional manner, and this user's list of contributions appears to be focused on pushing FRINGE POVs. Delta13C I see plenty of sources, most are mainstream, like Chicago Tribune, livestrong, zagat. I can't vouch for cuisinenoir nor windycity live, but the article isn't a puff piece, in fact, the article says a lot less than the sources do. I don't think the tag is valid. KoshVorlon I agree that the Chicago Tribune source is reliable and suitable for BLP, but are you sure that Livestrong and Zagat are reliable sources? The Zagat sources are reviews of the restaurants, and the LIvestrong piece is about her specific "detox diet," which does not bear on BLP. I am not convinced that the article has enough sources to pass WP:BLP. Delta13C (talk) 07:49, 11 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Delta13C Zagat is reliable and therefore is usable, Livestrong is also reliable. Like I said, I see references in here enough to satisfy the requirements, but I want to hear from others as well. KoshVorlon 12:14, 11 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
KoshVorlon I am pretty sure that a Content farm like Livestrong.com is not a reliable source. Zagat reviews are pretty much self-published content. Regardless, the information contained in these sources does not provide biographical information about the subject of this article. Therefore, they are not helping this article meet the hurdle of WP:BLP. Delta13C (talk) 13:25, 11 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Delta13C Zagat is definetly not "self-published", Zagat are very coveted reviews, it's reliable, and Live Strong is a reliable organization (despite Lance Armstrong ). Far as I can tell it satisfies the requirements of BLP KoshVorlon 20:51, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
