@MauraWen: that is in fact the opposite of the guideline in WP:EGRS, which states that the subject must have publicly self-identified. Weston (like Ellen Lewin and Evelyn Blackwood) is an academic who works on lesbian subjects and who has publicly self-identified as a lesbian in a reliable source.
