Changing name to Katlyn Cerminara

edit

Katlyn Cerminara (nee Chookagian) married Kyle Cerminara in September 2019 and has recently changed her last name to reflect her marriage. Per her Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/blondefighter/?hl=en) and UFC fighter profile (https://www.ufc.com/athlete/katlyn-chookagian). ILikeFights (talk) 16:47, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Katlyn ChookagianKatlyn Cerminarahttp://ufcstats.com/fighter-details/e872e9a9a902c045 On UFC's website and her social media pages, her name has since been changed. We can leave information on the main article "nee" reflecting the change from Chookagian. Oppose Is ufcstats.com an official source? Her profile is still under Chookagian on the official site:
https://www.ufc.com/athlete/katlyn-chookagian
And her IG has "Katlyn Chookagian (Cerminara)": https://www.instagram.com/blondefighter/?hl=en
So it seems like she's continuing to use Chookagian professionally. Off the top of my head, Kim Kardashian continued using her name professionally after she took Kanye's surname and her WP article reflected that. I'd suggest to hold off for now. Spagooder (talk) 23:33, 22 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it's the official page. http://statleaders.ufc.com/?fighter_status=0&weight_class=WFLW is the UFC stats page, and it lists her as "Katlyn Cerminara". She has gotten married. However, her page has https://www.ufc.com/athlete/katlyn-chookagian Chookagian, but if you look at the "last fight" section, it lists her as Cerminara. ESPN https://www.espn.com/mma/fighter/_/id/4026490/katlyn-cerminara lists her as Katlyn Cerminara. Similar to Joanne Wood who was Joanne Calderwood before, I think we should change her Wikipedia name to reflect her name change. Marty2Hotty (talk) 12:03, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
She's still Chookagian on the UFC 299 card: https://www.ufc.com/event/ufc-299
I think we should wait until the event or another definite usage. Spagooder (talk) 22:34, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
