Legendary pre-Achaemenid kings of Iran
editBesides the Shah Nameh, the discussion of this period of semi-legendary kings of Iran in the History of al-Tabari should be used and referenced, I believe. See vol. 4 of the SUNY translation, by Moshe Perlmann (1987), 1-19. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.72.98.81 (talk) 19:05, 11 April 2007 (UTC).

False Identification of Persons in the Painting
editIn the painting of Kay Khosrow passing from the river Jeihoon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kay_Khosrow#/media/File:KayKhosrowMotherandGrandmother.jpg), it is written as follows: "Kay Khosrow is seen with the old man in the middle" This is obviously not true. First of all the name of the persons are written above their heads in Persian, and so the old man is Piran Veiseh, and the man riding with him is Afrasiab, the king of Turan. Secondly, according to Shahnameh, an Iranian warrior by the name of Giv goes to Turan and brings back Kay Khosrow and his mother to Iran, and they pass the river Jeihoon together as it is seen in the picture. Thirdly, Kay Khosrow is a very young man then and not yet the king of Iran. Also, on the right side of Kay Khosrow (the youngster in the river) it is written in Persian: "Kay Khosrow goes to Iran with his mother", pointing out that the youngster is Kay Khosrow. It is obvious who are the people who are passing the river (Iranians) and who are those who are watching (Turanians):The woman on the left is Farangis, Kay Khosrow's mothers (her name is written above her head), the youngster in between is the young Kay Khosrow, and the man who accompanies him is Giv son of Goudarz, the Iranian warrior who brought Kay Khosrwo back to Iran. There is a mistake in the painting; Kay Khosrow's horse is a black one named Shabgard e Behzad which belonged to his father, Siavush, before he was born, but in the painting Kay Khosrow rides a white horse, and Afrasiab a black one. That might be what has made you people mistake Afrasiab for Kay Khosrow. But, Afrasiab also had a black horse. And, also, the standard in the hand of the man standing behind Afrasiab, Garsivaz, who is a Turanian villain in the story, has a dragon on it which is a Turanian coat of arms. and on the three-coloured standard on the far right of the painting is written "Turan" in Persian. Would Kay Khosrow ride in front of the Turanian army? Please correct this mistake. In tried to edit it myself, but someone removed my correction without bothering to investigate.
