Berg/Bourg
editDoes anyone know why the French name of the town is berg instead of bourg? Mugsalot (talk) 20:48, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
- Because it is originally a German name. Berg means "mountain" and Kaysersberg means "The emperor's mountain" or "mountain of the emperor". Burg on the other hand originally means "fortress" but also has the meaning of borough, or bourg in French, which has, of course, the same linguistic root. --Insert coins (talk) 15:51, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
