Remember, kids: when it happens in the USA, it's a "shooting". If it happens anywhere else in the world, it's a "massacre". That's because the USA is the only place where mass shootings happen. And never forget that Big Brother is watching you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.70.13.107 (talk) 10:51, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Oppose No sources I have read (which is too many) have said massacre. Almost all say shooting when referring to what happened in Kazan. Kellis713:13, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Well, that's what the media does. They call it a massacre as a means to make it seem like it was the worst thing that has ever happend. It is nothing more than hyperbole. Exaggerating the whole thing. Kahnew (talk) 18:10, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry, you must have misunderstood. No media sources are calling it a massacre. Most news sources I read call it a shooting. Hope that clears it up! Kellis718:15, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Oppose This is not a massacre by its meaning, and no sources are calling it as such. That would also be heavily biased, so to speak. --Integer123 (talk) 05:04, 15 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

" .. life imprisonment (equal to capital punishment in modern Russia) ... " - so, in the Russian Federation, that's a cognomen for "sentenced to death"?? Something's not correct here. Can we find an alternate source? This is a very widely-covered subject and English sources should be extremely plentiful.50.111.52.57 (talk) 20:59, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Not really. English sources have dropped this right after day one. The only sources that will continue to cover this are obviously Russian. Love of Corey (talk) 22:30, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand Russian, nor its law, but I interpret this as saying that his crime was deserving of the death penalty per that statute, but a statute since then has overruled the death penalty, so instead it is replaced with life imprisonment. I do agree that the wording is highly "huh?" and someone who understands the law better should make it clearer. Plus, a Google translate of the source says nothing about "capital" or "death" at all Unknown Temptation (talk) 19:46, 14 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
