Kazimierz Wodzicki (1816-1889) → Kazimierz Wodzicki (Polish nobleman, born 1816) – We generally do not use entire lifespans as disambiguation terms (see WP:NCPDAB), but I'm not so sure about the "Polish nobleman" part. Both he and his grandson were Polish noblemen and ornithologists. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:21, 9 August 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. Waqar💬 15:50, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- If so the natural disambiguation option would be to include the middle names. Shyamal (talk) 01:47, 10 August 2024 (UTC)
- Note that WP:MIDDLENAME says "
Adding given names, or their abbreviations, merely for disambiguation purposes (if that format of the name is not commonly used to refer to the person) is not advised.
" — BarrelProof (talk) 17:44, 10 August 2024 (UTC)- In my reading, that is a guideline to be used in cases where there is a clear conflict with popular usage and when the usage looks too contrived. A genealogy site - explicity expands it as Kazimierz Stanisław Michał Wodzicki herbu Leliwa and a Polish biographical entry uses "Wodzicki Kazimierz Stanisław Michał" - using the full name appears to be acceptable practice and does not seem to be uncommon usage per that guideline. (the shortened form seems to be mainly in use in his ornithological publications in German, modesty on his part?) Shyamal (talk) 02:22, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

- No objection to that. Also no objection to a long-form name if that is supported by sources as a common form of the name. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:12, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
