A fact from Keewassee appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 13 March 2008, and was viewed approximately 3,114 times (disclaimer) (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that Keewassee, a Potowatomi warrior, attempted to destroy a dam built by settler William Davis and was severely beaten with a hickory rod when caught?
Let's hope. What was probably intended is something like "fl. 1832", since we apparently don't have his birth and death dates. As far as I can tell, we don't know anything about Keewassee beyond his involvement in the Indian Creek massacre. Per WP:One event, he probably doesn't merit his own article. Unless there is some notable information about him that is yet to show up here, this article should be probably redirected to the Indian Creek massacre article, since everything in this article will be repeated in that one. —KevinMyers00:57, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Redirecting. It's not even clear that he was the Potowatomi who was beaten for dismantling the dam; Jung thinks he was a Sauk. We'll mention this in the Indian Creek massacre article. —KevinMyers13:29, 26 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
