Proposed merger 2017
editHello, all. I propose to merge these two articles into one entitled Keighley Tramways which will contain the history of both and have an RDT. I will expand the information and give references. The Keighley Tramways Company states that it is the Keighley Corporation Tramway in its opening sentence anyway. Both articles are scant on information and although I do not anticipate anything in the way of objections, I am placing a notice here in case of something that I may have missed. Regards. - Support for the reasons above. The joy of all things (talk) 14:43, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
- Merger and re-naming performed 18 January 2017. Notices placed on Wikiproject Yorkshire and Wikiproject Trams - no objections or support either. The joy of all things (talk) 21:10, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
The gauge of the tramway remained at 4ft throughout its life. there had been hopes of connecting it to the Bradford system at Crossflatts. The old bridge at Stockbridge prevented this and the Keighley system was abandoned before the bridge was replaced.
