Plagiarism
editLike several other articles created or expanded by Dan arndt, this article appears to include plagiarism of some of the cited sources. Using a duplicate detector, the page evidently contains plagiarism from here ([1]) and here ([2]). To be fair, some of material appears to be reduplicated between the sources, but it does not appear to have originated with Wikipedia.--Cúchullain t/c 20:37, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Have removed any plagarism, using the duplicate dector most of the phrases are either titles or information that is duplicated in multiple sources, which have been cited as sources. Dan arndt (talk) 03:16, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for making the effort to take care of this, Dan. There are still some problems here. The lines "Chatto was the first Australian artist to illustrate a full-length comic episode of The Phantom"; "...before joining the RAAF, where he served first as a trainee telegraphist and later as a draughtsman"; "Also, in 1947, Chatto wrote two comic strips for The Australian Sunbather, a nudist magazine, published by Ashworth Publications"; and "...pulp fiction novels, which he produced at the rate of up to six covers a week by the mid-1950s." are taken either directly from the sources, are are altered only slightly. Obviously just naming titles from a source is fine, but quoting lines in the same way or nearly the same way is not.--Cúchullain t/c 13:43, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
- Have addressed all of the above with the exception of "Chatto was the first Australian artist to illustrate a full-length comic episode of The Phantom'" just not certain how else to phrase this... Dan arndt (talk) 04:29, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
- I took a stab at it; it may not be totally there yet, but it's a start. Thanks for taking care of this.--Cúchullain t/c 13:33, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
