trolled to death
edit[1] Yeah, Daily Mail, not exactly a fountain of wisdom, but it argues that Emerson killed himself after being trolled too much by fans saying he had lost his ability. Putting this here to acknowledge its existence. I don't get the impression it's a widely held view. 173.228.123.207 (talk) 06:23, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
Thats overly sensationalized, and close people are not always objective in such situations. This point of view is just as valid: https://www.express.co.uk/news/obituaries/652126/Emerson-Lake-Palmer-bandmate-feared-for-ELP-star-Keith-Emerson Elhacat (talk) 17:26, 10 January 2020 (UTC)
- It`s a huge part of what he did...ELP was negatively criticized...never as much as some people believe..it was a media event..they had plenty of positive reviews not that should matter either....the intensity of it is what got to him..he was getting a ton of flack before what was to be his last tour..I read after he committed suicide that the vindictiveness of the personal attacks is what pushed him over the edge..I do not edit articles and do not have sources however..the issue with him and ELP in general is believe it or not..some people don`t like classical music..I don`t like heavy metal but I`m not going to waste my time criticizing because I don't listen to it..after he died I read an article ( it wasn`t the Daily Mail ) quoting his wife that the venomous criticism directed at him is why he did it 2600:1702:2340:9470:1CA:85A1:55D6:DE6A (talk) 16:36, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
The Panto Years
editIn the mid 1990s, KE acted as musical director. and possibly composer, for a pantomime in Bristol produced by "comedian" Jim Davidson. I was a tech op on that show. It didn't go well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.198.42.94 (talk) 13:40, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
Record Labels
editIn the UK, The Nice were on Immediate, then Charisma, and the first ELP releases were on Island before Manticore was started. Might someone add them to the record labels section? 51.155.104.90 (talk) 21:39, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
