Salvaging Kellerbier info
editI find Silktork's position (that "Kellerbier" does not merit its own article) most convincing, especially in light of Michael Jackson's remarks. It's a term for a set of beers that belong to various styles. But wouldn't it be a good idea to salvage some of the information from this page, rather than simply deleting it? I'd have done it already, but I didn't want to get into what is beginning to look like an edit war. Dunkelweizen (talk) 13:42, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

- BeerAdvocate.com isn't an authority; it's an online community of beer drinking enthusiasts. The BA.com style list is problematic for lots of reasons, as plenty of other WPers will attest. That's fine, for BA's purposes, of course--it's not supposed to be academically rigorous; it's just supposed to help expose people to beer. But for the stricter goals of Wikipedia, don't you think Michael Jackson trumps the Alström brothers on this matter? I hope you're considering all sides of this matter, Tstrobaugh. - [[1]] BJCP style guidelines]p. 57 lists kellerbier as a "minor style". I was just in Germany, I ordered the Schlappeseppel kellerbier, that's what the Brewery calls their style of beer. You can't have any better empirical evidence than that. Tstrobaugh (talk) 20:13, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Also, I don't know what you are talking about with regard to MJ. He says it's a style very plainly. One is the unfiltered style of lager that is variously known as Zwickelbier, Kellerbier or Ungespundet beer.Tstrobaugh (talk) 20:24, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
