world's strongest man competition?
editI recall Ken Patera used to compete in the World's Strongest Man competition. Does anyone have info on this?
Mr. America
editUh, the last paragraph says that Ken Patera defeated Mr. America...would that be Hulk Hogan in his "Mr. America" gimmick or one of the winners of the title of "Mr. America?" --Kaizer13 (talk) 18:42, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Ken Patera and the Olympic press
editThe text says that Patera quit weightlifting after the press, a lift in which he was "disproportionately talented", was eliminated from the game. Well, by looking at the 1971 World Weightlifting Championship results, it doesn't seem so: Patera pressed a mere 212.5 kg, against 230 kg for Alexeyev, and 227.5 for Serge Reding! The text also says that Patera was a serious challenger for Alexeyev in the 1972 Olympics, which is also far from the truth...Whoever wrote this text should correct it appropriately!Gemb47 (talk) 04:02, 4 May 2012 (UTC)
1942 or 1943
editI'm a bit confused. The lede says he was born in 1942 but the infobox says 1943. Which is correct? Elspooky (talk) 17:14, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

Weight
edit@Hunterb212: Hi, it is regarding this change. In my opinion, since Patera was an Olympic Weightlifter and a Strongman, his higher weight stat (322 lbs) should be mentioned as a range like in this version. Also note the infobox is not explicit for a pro-wrestler either. What do you think? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:28, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
- Yes I didn't notice but you are right it's not a pro wrestler infobox. Feel free to change it. Hunterb212 (talk) 15:19, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Hunterb212: I readded it, keeping your changes as well . - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:31, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
